Hi,
Have been reading all the useful info on the forums and need help finding the right diamond. I am looking for round brilliant
* heart and arrow
* ideal cut / aca
* ideal polish
* around 0.75-0.85ct
* VS2 - VVS2
* G - E
* Have a budget of $4000 - $4500

I have looked at Whiteflash and ran some numbers on a few diamonds on the HCA. All seem to be equally good to this novice. Will I be able to tell G from F and is VS1 much better than VS2? Can anyone suggest some diamonds which fit my criteria?

Thanks very much!

Hi Giselle and welcome!

It is unlikely you would be able to tell G from F and VS1 isn''t '' better'' than VS2, they are both very fine clarity grades and both should be eyeclean.

Do you wish to buy from WF exclusively or would you be interested in buying from any of the other vendors depending on what we can find, if you want a h&a diamond?

You could think SI1 too:

Much much cheaper... and still so beautiful!!!

Thanks for the welcome. Any reliable vendor is fine. I have only looked at Whiteflash, but have no preferences as long as they are reliable.

Thanks Stephan, but my heart is set on VS2 or better grade. Initially I wanted a VS1 or higher, but am willing to compromise for a VS2 with superior cut.

ASET of first one looks better to me.
No?

Looks about the same to me. :P

OK, let me respect your preferences.

I choose this one:

That diamond will be beautiful.
This looks good. Is a ''feather'' worse than orther types of inclusions?

Here are three more I was looking at. Any opinions on them?

I haven''t seen a bad ACA yet.

Also, at VS1 level, no inclusion is likely to be a problem. Don''t worry about them.

I recommended the 0.851c. Biggest available for your budget and specs.

Based on ASET and Idealscope, would you recommend this over the others? Any other vendors I should look at too? All suggestions are welcome. Thanks very much.

That is the best value I have seen for your specs and budget. The ASET/IS image for this stone is on par with other ACAs.

Didn''t make a choice yet, Stephan. Got sidetracked looking at more diamonds at GOG. Everything is looking good and can''t make up my mind. Don''t know if I should go with a F VS2 or G VS1, given all other specs are what I am looking for. Help!!!
Is too much information too bad? :)

Someone (who has a very bad reputation on this forum) wrote that D-E-F diamonds should be IF-VVS and G-H diamonds should be VS to be a good investment.
I don''t believe him, but something in his idea pleases me.

Not at all! Just take your time, I think the more you read and compare, the clearer your preferences will become. You can't get it wrong, you obviously know how to pick well cut diamonds and F or G VS1 or 2 is great quality whichever you decide. Also we can't 'recommend' any diamonds as we are only consumers and lack first hand knowledge of the diamonds or the skill to do so, but we can let you know our preferences and make suggestions!

Ooops! Looks like someone bought it before I could call. Oh well.
