Need Help Finding Ring

Our budget is $11,000 for the diamond and ring together. I just want a plain 14k white gold band.
The diamond to be radiant or cushion 1.6 - 2.0 carats.
I also want a blue sapphire halo around the cushion or radiant.
Do you think $11,000 is enough?

Do you want a halo or a plain solitare? You sort of said you wanted both.

A plain solitare can be had for less than $1k but a halo is going to cost you probably $2k-ish (more for a custom one).

I think your budget is a little low or at best going to be pretty tight.

You may need to dip below the 1.5 mark for your diamond to meet your budget. Diamonds have increased considerably this year, unfortunately. A decent custom setting like you are talking about will probably run over $3000. I would encourage you to use 18k white gold or platinum for fine jewelry.

I believe a cushion is going to be better with the sapphire halo. You can find antique rings made this way and they are quite beautiful. You could probably save a lot if you found an antique one. Are you open to that idea? I'll try to look quickly but I need to start cooking soon for Thanksgiving!
