Hi All. Long time snooper, newish member.

I am looking for an Old European Cut stone. I need some help. I've sent notes out to a few dealers but find that I'm already very overwhelmed with the process as I'm not an expert - just want a pretty vintage stone that is sparkly. I've been seeing a lot of transitional cuts that are pretty but I really have my heart set on the tiny table, high crown, vintage look of OEC.

Specs I think I want:

J/K color
VS2 or Other Eye Clean
1.5 carats
Budget approx $9K

Can anyone offer me some assistance or guidance on where to look? Am I being reasonable with my budget?

Thanks so much!
Jessica

I would contact Jewels by Grace or Love Affair Diamonds Grace is excellent to work with. I've not purchased from her but called to ask her opinion and she could not have been nicer. Many people have used both these vendors on this site with excellent results.

Jewels by Grace has an AGS 1.72, J Color, VS2, Old European Cut listed for $9,975

They can also look for stones for you.

You might want to contact this guy too. A couple of PSers have bought from him.

A few PSers went to his B&M store and posted a thread on their adventure...

You also might want to contact Adam at Old World Diamonds. They are a little more expensive.

It might be a little difficult finding a J color. A lot of older stones are lower in color (N and lower) because the higher colors
were re-cut into round brilliants when they became popular. I'm sure there is a J out there for you though!
