Hi everyone, my fiance has decided on a setting, now we just need to find a diamond to go with it.

I''ve been reading these boards long enough to know that I''ll never have anywhere near the knowledge you people have, so it makes much more sense to let you pick out the diamond. :)

We looked at rings at a bunch of jewellery stores, and she wasn''t all that picky when it came to clarity and colour ... she really liked the sparkle more than anything else ... and size is always good, of course (size 8.5) ... I''m thinking anywhere between .70 - 1.00 would be good.

Here''s the setting she picked out:

I don''t want to go over $3000 total price, so $2000 or so is what I have to spend on the diamond.

Thanks!

Just thought I''d mention ... I saw earlier that they have 5% off hearts and arrows diamonds right now

Hmm, I don''t see it on their main page anymore, but I think it said until May 31st and to enter the code True5 at checkout (not sure if I''m remembering that right)

I would definitely like others opinions on these ... to me the first one looks a bit better, but my knowledge is very limited when it comes to comparing similar stones

Also, just wondering ... is it worth the extra cost for H+A? (even with the 5% off) Or would it be better to go with Ideal to get a bigger diamond? I guess it depends on the diamond?

I personally don''t feel that H&A is worth the extra cost in most cases. The reasons I linked these two is that 1) if the 5% off is still going on, it takes these to about the same price as the ideal cut non H&A, and IS images are already provided for these. You can always ask for an IS image for other stones from them, this just made it a little more expedient. 2) I did look at J color ideal cut to try and get larger, but nothing that they had listed was appealing until you got down to the same size as these two.

I will take another look and see if I can find any ideal, non H&A that might be a little larger or lower priced for similar performance.

Yes, the deal is still on ... when I refreshed the main page a couple times it ended up coming back up ...

It''s good to know that the 5% makes it worth it. Thanks for your responses, it''s appreciated!

redmen, looking through JA''s selection again, I am just not finding anything I like better or even as well as these two, even dropping to J color. Maybe someone else will come up with something.

Bummer, I thought the 5% would come off the Pricescope price ...

When I put in the TRUE5 discount, it simply replaces the Pricescope discout (an extra $6 off) ... so it looks like theres no Pricescope discount at all in this case

original price: $2140
Pricescope: $2040
TRUE5: $2034
