Hello all!

First post here - I am hoping that you can help me on my search for the right engagement ring. I'm really impressed with the wealth of knowledge around here!

Here's the situation: I already have a round cut, .60ct diamond, so I am looking for a setting only. My SO really likes Floral-style halo rings, but I'm struggling to find one that is just right.

I'm really fond of this Tacori, but I would really be stretching the budget for it: http://www.since1910.com/tacori-552rd-full-bloom-round-diamond-halo-engagement-ring/v_4815_m_7620_s_5

Similarly, I've found a few reasonably priced floral-style halo rings, but they seem a little too plain and lack the details that make the Tacori stand out to me:

Also love this Leon Mege piece, but it's discontinued and most likely way out of my price range  : http://www.whiteflash.com/gallery/diamond-engagement-rings/lotus-halo-diamond-engagement-ring-by-leon-mege-26601.htm

I would truly appreciate it if you could propose some alternatives that combine the floral halo style with some unique details. Thanks so much!!

This one from James Allen is similar:

I have that exact Tacori setting and I absolutely love it! We looked around for alternatives since it was fairly expensive, but I couldn't find one that was the right height (I wanted to wear my wedding band flush with it). I also couldn't find anything with as much detail in the basket, which was one of the main things I was drawn to. I do think that the James Allen one is the closest I've seen. When I was looking, some Pricescopers did say that the general floral design was probably easy enough to custom replicate, but I didn't like buying something without trying it on.

In case you aren't aware, the cost of the Tacori setting can be less depending on the size of the center stone. I have a 1.35ct center stone and was right in between two sizes. Tacori custom make each halo to your center stone, so you may find that the cost isn't as much as you'd expected. I opted for white gold, which also reduced the cost (and I think makes a lot of sense given the plain shank).

Good luck on your search, and let me know if you'd like to see any more real-life pictures of the Tacori setting. If it is out of budget, I hope others are able to find something similar that meets your expectations :).

I am in love with your ring tmot14!!! Can you tell me what size your finger is? Did you get your setting from Whiteflash? I found the setting on the website but it says its been discontinued; only the cushion version is available. ;(

Just an FYI: I don't think Blue Nile or Brilliant Earth will sell you just the setting. You have to buy the diamond from them too before they will sell you the setting.

Thanks, jwo! I'm a size 7. When I purchased from Whiteflash a few months ago, they did not have the style in stock but were able to order it. It's definitely not discontinued, and can be purchased from any Tacori vendor. I had a great experience with Whiteflash, but in retrospect think I could have gotten a better deal with another vendor (unlike another vendor I later spoke to, I was not offered a discount for purchasing the setting and diamond together, but did get the wire discount).

Good to know. That certainly reduces my options then!

Unfortunately there doesn't seem to be much in between the simple designs shown shown in here (like the james allen and the b2c ones jwo posted) and the tacori

I guess I'll just have to save up for the Tacori then!

You'll be glad you did! It's such a beautiful setting.
