Hi everyone! I recently found this site and love all of the information I have gotten from it. I am in need of some diamond help. I am trying to find a loose diamond for an engagement ring. I am looking for a 2.20 - 2.50 round brilliant diamond in either G or H color. I am trying to get an excellent cut and a triple excellent would be a plus! I am willing to go down to an SI2 as long as it looks good. My budget is $20,000 total for the diamond. I am just having trouble trying to weed out the good and bad diamonds just by looking at the certs. Most of the sites don’t have actual pictures of the diamonds making it difficult. Any help or insight from fellow pricescopers have would be greatly appreciated. Even if you could recommend the best vendors to shop at. I really appreciate any help. Thanks in advance!

Many people use the Holloway Cut Advisor (HCA) to weed out poorly proportioned diamonds. It is under the Tools tab here on PS but here is the link: https://www.pricescope.com/tools/hca. With this, anything that gives back a score under 2.0 should have great performance and is worth looking in to. Just note that it is not an end all solution. A diamond scoring .5 is not necessarily better than a diamond scoring 1.3, so you will still need to visually inspect them yourself.

aron I will look into that tool thank you very much!
