I am considering buying this diamond but am not sure of the quality of the diamond. When I look at the idealscope image I notice 8 spots of white light near but not at the edge of the diamond. Is there too much light leakage? Details of the diamond are as follows:

Shape: round
Carat: 1.21
Cut: ideal
Color: g
Clarity: VS1
Certificate: AGS
Depth: 61.4%
Table: 56%
Crown angle: 35 degreees
Pavilion angle: 40.7 degrees
Polish: ideal
Symmetry: ideal
Girdle: thin to medium
Cutlet: none
Fluorescence: none
Measurements: 6.85x6.90x4.21

Do you consider this to be a good quality diamond? How much would you pay for this diamond? Thanks to anyone who helps me evaluate this diamond.

Looks pretty good to me. I was also looking at JA before I bought from BGD and came up with these candidates. Don''t have IS and don''t know if still available. I was looking at I-SI1 though for less money.

That is a great IS image. The spots you are referring to are intentional. They are controlled leakage and help with the scintillation. Should be a very good performer.

Use the Diamond prices search at the top of the page to compare pricing with similar stones, but if the vendor is who I think, they are very competitive on pricing.

How does the clarity plot information look for this diamond? The salesperson keeps tells me that since it is VS1, it will be eyeclean but I am still worried about how the actual diamond will look. Are any of these inclusions a definite warning sign to not buy this diamond?

Ditto jet2ks.

That is a very clean clarity plot (to be expected with VS1 clarity), but even then all it really tells you is the location and type of the inclusions. Think of it as a map that shows where the roads are, but not how well they are paved or how wide the shoulders are. That said, you are very safe with VS1. By definition, inclusions for a VS1 are difficult for a trained grader to find at 10x magnification--no one will be able to see anything but a bright, sparkly diamond with a naked eye. Absolutely nothing to worry about.

thritto, looks great!

Unless you are Superman?

Very beautiful diamond, it would make an excellent choice. In the $9-10k range would be pretty fair.

This is a great image, as Jet explained the white areas are indeed controlled leakage which can aid contrast and scintillation, no worries at all.

Clarity, VS1 are * nearly* always eyeclean plus you can''t go by the clarity plot to judge whether a diamond is eyeclean or not, asking the vendor as you have done is the way to go.

how do you know who sells what?
is there a database to determine who is selling which diamonds at a certain point in time ?( by tracking the certification number?)
i guess it only works for certified diamonds...

Just from the image set up and from the previous postings you can guess if you stay here long enough. :P

As others have assured you, VS1 will be eyeclean. My diamond is also VS1, and even with a 10x loupe I can''t find the inclusions. Those inclusions are tiny.

And it''s a great IS. Beautiful diamondl!

The diamond looks great! Plus 1 from me. The IS looks dam good, the clarity should not be an issue, and i have a hunch as well as to who is selling this diamond. You should be getting a pretty good deal for this diamond through the vendor ;)

Congrats if you go through with it!
