GIA certified diamond

Square Modified Brilliant
5.37 x 5.33 x 4.01mm
1.01 carat
E
SI2
Polish: Excellent
Symmetry: Good
Fluorescence: Faint

It says the girdle is very thick to extremely thick (and this is what concerns me).
Across the table it says 75% then measuring down it says 75.2%

How do I know if this is a good cut. I have never picked out a diamond before. There are two options I have at my price point. The other was not GIA certified (it was some other certification GSI). It is a 1.05 F SI2. Measurements: 5.64 x 5.32 x 3.93mm says cut grade good. Don't know what girdle is on this one. This diamond has a tiny black inclusion that bothered me. The GIA one has some clear colored inclusions that I so far have not been able to see with a naked eye.

Does the GIA certified diamond above sound good? Is the cut good? I am concerned with the girdle thickness. Not sure what exactly that will impact on this diamond. Which one is best?

Thanks...

We cant really tell much about princess cuts (unless they are graded by AGS) with only the numbers. We really need pictures and
aset images to check on the light return. A normal 1 carat princess usually measures 5.5mm. Extra thick girdles may be hiding
weight. We usually look for tables to be smaller than depth on princess cuts.

If you want to see some excellent cut stones to compare with look at Whiteflash ACA princess cuts. They can give you
an idea of numbers and what a well cut princess should look like.
