Hello ever-helpful PS''ers... I have narrowed down my search to these stones brought in by WF. I can''t decide between them. I''m not that concerned about the size difference, just wondering if the angles on Stone 1 are better than Stone 2.

I REALLY appreciate any help here! I will post Stone1 IS, pic and Sarin, then Stone 2''s. Thanks for your patience:

I''m no expert, but I like stone 1 better. It looks like there''s a crystal or something right over one of the arrows in stone 2, and that would bother me...

ditto... i vote for stone 1. i don''t like the crystals in stone 2.

whao! 2+ cts! my dream diamond...

Thanks jstar and elaineh,

The crystals are white and aern''t visible to the eye at all. Would that still bug you? I''m upgrading from an SI2 so those inclusions look tiiiiny to me!

if the price difference isn''t too big, i would still prefer #1...i''m kinda a clarity nut. my VS1 occlusions bug me when i see it under mag...

In the end I don't think it is going to matter much which one. However, based on what I read and If they are both eye clean and ESPECIALLY if the inclusions in both are white/colorless then I would DEF pick stone 1. However, looking at the images it looks like the inclusions in 1 may be black, in which case I would want an in depth explanation of the appearance of the diamond from all angles--especially if you haven't decided on a permanent life-long setting.

However, as you know, 1 is bigger and it has a lesser table percentage. They are both pushing the boundaries of really maximizing the balance between brilliance and fire so I would def pick the smaller table with larger diamond without a second thought, being both eye clean, etc...

Also, the inclusions in the first one had much less impact on the ideal scope image, though both are small enough of an impact I don't think it should be any real concern.

Finally, (oops, didn't see it, finally occurred two lines above.)

I like stone 1 too. The crystals would probably bother me even if I couldn''t see them

Star and LGF lengths are on the sarin reports they are the last two mentioned. The first figure in the measurement is the star length as opposed to upper girdle facet length.

The Lower girdle halves are the lower girdle facet lengths.

I would pick either of these two if the crystals are not visible and do not bother you, depending upon price and your preferences for size.

I would rather have crystals than a feather any day.

Oh I forgot to mention that Stone 1 is an F VS2 and Stone 2 is a D VS2. I guess that''s why I''m still thinking of Stone 2... I might edit the original post...

Otherwise I agree Stone 2 has better angles and clarity plot etc..

Can you see the visual difference between D and F? Just a thought...I have an F-G stone and it is noticeably whiter than the platinum setting it sits in. That D sounds like it could be a beautiful blinding white, but the F could be just as white and sparkly in person.

God I hear that, now that I have developed enough skill to spot my little clouds over on the side of my VS2 I hate them. For the longest time I kept blowing on the diamond to make sure it wasn't dust that I was spotting instead of the inclusions. They look so much like dust...I don't think I will ever show my gf, just better off being invisible I think, and without knowing exactly where they are and setting up for it perfectly she would never be able to see them for sure with the naked eye from any angle.

Yea, sorry about that I fixed it before I read this one actually.

Also, don't drop in size and optimum light performance for an f to D diamond...unless that REALLY means something to you. I think the benefits of the larger one def are more valuable than the color change from f to D, but then again, a 2ct D would be incredible. Like, I said, either way it shouldn't matter, its going to be incredibly sexy. I say just go take a look at both if possible, and pick the one you like the most then. why not?
