I am currently shopping for a 3-4 carat cushion cut or OMC stone to pass on as an heirloom. I have decided that I want a warm color (M-P), and have received some options for stones from an online vendor, which I have included below. I specified no culet, excellent cut, VS1 clarity and no fluorescence, but don''t know enough about how the depth ratio impacts the look of cushion cut stones. Can someone look over these specs and give me some advice on choosing the best stone from this list? Thanks so much.

Diamond #10

CU, 3.01 carat, GIA cert, O color, VS2 clarity, depth 68.7%, table 60%, measurements 8.08 x 7.88 x 5.41 mm, ratio 1.03, VG G F

Diamond #10C

CU, 3.01 carat, GIA cert, M color, VS1 clarity, depth 68.6%, table 58%, measurements 8.57 x 8.05 x 5.52 mm, ratio 1.06, EX VG N [no culet]

Diamond #10H

CU, 3.11 carat, GIA cert, M color, VVS2 clarity, depth 64.5%, table 60%, measurements 8.85 x 8.16 x 5.26 mm, ratio 1.08, VG G F

Diamond #13

CU, 3.15 carat, GIA cert, M color, VS2 clarity, price $11,442, depth 67.0%, table 63%, measurements 8.37 x 8.22 x 5.51 mm, ratio 1.02, VG VG N [no culet]

Diamond #14

CU, 4.05 carat, GIA cert, M color, SI1 clarity, depth 69.2%, table 63%, measurements 10.06 x 8.55 x 5.92 mm, ratio 1.18, VG G N [no culet]

Diamond #15

CU, 4.00 carat, GIA cert, M color, SI1 clarity, depth 62.9%, table 62%, measurements 9.68 x 8.77 x 5.52 mm, ratio 1.10, VG G N [no culet]

We need images, prefereably ASET to make a judgment on the cut of fancy cut.

Welcome!

Can you get photographs of each diamond which are very important please and ASET images? If you are unfamiliar with ASET images, this link explains. Photos in particular are essential so if you can ask the vendor for some, post them if you can get them then we can go from there. Can you also request the vendor runs a Sarin on the diamonds if possible in order to get the crown height? I would narrow down by deciding which fits your budget and colour/ size preferences best then ask for the above on three of the diamonds.

These diamonds will be distinctly tinted in these colour grades and size just to make sure you are aware, the tint might be quite noticeable.

I cannot get pictures, just the paper specs.

Unfortunately without images, especially photos we are missing so much info, how the diamond looks, sparkles, faceting and so forth. Have you asked the seller/s for photos? Many of the online vendors will provide them, alternatively if these are virtual stones and listed with multiple vendors, you could have one sent to one of the vendors who can provide more info. Otherwise it is anyone's guess how beautiful the diamonds are, really what I call buying blind without photos.

I can "order in" a few stones to look at, based on the specs the vendor provided, before buying. Would you be willing recommend a few stones to look at based on the specs I''ve provided? And Diamond 10C has a GIA cert. Thanks so much.

Or speak with Jon og GoodOldGold and see if he can cut a custome chunky cushion with the specs for you?

I can certainly have a look to see if I can find any suggestions for you, I would also contact Mark at

What is your budget for the diamond?

Lorelei,

I''m looking at stones priced up to $20,000, and have my heart set on an OMC or cushion cut with warm color to wear with a simple band because I just LOVE the warmth and chunky cuts of the older stones! And since I already have a gorgeous 2.5 carat three stone ring and three eternity bands in colorless, exquisite diamonds, I decided to purchase a large single stone with a different look to celebrate a very important family milestone. What better way to do it than by purchasing a diamond?!

The specs for diamonds that have been recommended from this vendor are in my first post to this thread. I can decide which ones to ask him to order for me to view, but I''m not sure which ones, given the specs he provided, will look the best. I am concerned that some of them may look "small" for the carat weight. Looking at those specs, do you have any recommendations of which stones to view that will "live up to" their carat weights visually and still show well?

Thanks.

Out of the ones you have posted I would probably be most interested in the last 3 but it is really hard to tell as there is so much info we are missing.
