need HELP choosing between these two:

hello everyone, new user here, and aside from the past 2 days reading up, absolutely clueless about diamonds, and i need your help choosing between two.

as a side story first, we decided to get married next year, and since we're both immigrants (we're in Canada, btw), we've also decided that we share this occassion with her family by bringing them from Asia to us.

she actually caught me looking online for a ring, and considering our current situation (and the absurd airfare for bringing 3 people here), she decided that our resources instead be poured towards the occassion itself (the wedding, airfare, the works).

but i want to surprise her, so i sold off my guitar and that is what i will use to get her something simple.

anyways, i was able to browse a mom & pop shop here, and this caught my eye:

so basically, both are pretty much at the same price, and the reason im considering the mom & pop shop is that i was able to actually see it and they said it will be ready in a week.

i was wondering, how big a difference do these two have size-wise and overall? also, if i put it in a 2mm comfort fit setting, would it still stand out? im pretty sure she isnt an expert regarding these things (but then again i might be wrong). i know the info isnt quite enough, sorry.

its just that for this, im working on a very tight budget (around $1000 including the setting), and i dont really want to go over that much because we're kind of stretched as it is.

or aside from the two, is there anything else i can look at?

Was the diamond in the jewelry store graded by GIA? If not, you really have no idea of what you're getting.

But wait, because I might have some better options for you. Let me look a sec.

Here is a real Tiffany engagement ring, like new, for $1300 in a platinum setting. I have bought from this seller before. He may come down a little on the price. A lot of his items were just returns so the items are basically new but Tiffany doesn't resell things that are returned. I will tell you that a platinum setting like this would cost as much as these rings, plus you get the Tiffany brand!

That Tiffany ring is lovely. I'd aim for that if you can. Maybe even contact the seller with your budget and see if he'll come down on the price a little bit?

Yup, the guitar actually my first buy from my first paycheck when we migrated here.

She's a 4.75-5 actually. That $1500 ring is absolutely beautiful. Im gonna contact the seller once i get home.

The diamond in the store here they said is certified.

make sure it is GIA or AGS...other labs are less reputable.
