Hi guys,
I having a hard time choosing between these two princess cut diamonds. Both are AGS 0 and seem pretty good as far as the numbers go. As far as price goes, they are pretty similar. The jeweler will bring in the diamond and take the ASET and IS once I decide on which one. Help!

Princess 1.19 G VS2 71.1% 63% 5.93x5.88x4.18
Ratio 1.01:1.00

Princess 1.11 G VVS2 74.3% 70% 5.64x5.61x4.17
Ratio 1.01:1.00

I would go call in #1 then, the 1.19G VS2, since both are AGS0. Prefer the smaller table look, it is slightly bigger in face up size.

Hi Milly and welcome!

Its hard to tell without images so post the ASET, Idealscope and photographs of the diamond when you get them please, I would probably go with the first diamond at this stage, unless you prefer VVS clarity.

My question is this, what effect will the smaller table have on the overall appearance of a diamond?

A smaller table can mean a higher crown depending on the CA. The AGS0 princess cuts I''ve seen with small tables have a lot more fire than ones you see with flat tops. It depends on the pavilion and crown pairing but that 63% table is one I''d like to see. Just like a round, the crown and pavilion work together in princess cuts and are critical to beauty. Unlike a round there are different pavilion and crown maps possible so numbers don''t tell us a lot. Absolutely the ASET view will tell a lot about light return.

Do you have any idea what the facet design looks like on these? Here is a good thread to explain what I mean. This will definitely impact the look of the sparkles differently.
