Hello,
I have narrowed my choices down to the following 4 diamonds. Which one or ones do you think is the best. I am thinking that the second one is the best considering it is the biggest and one of the more cheaper ones. The only thing i can see that different is that the polish is very good not excellent which i have heard is very hard to even notice. What do you guys think? I'm also looking for a nice gold solitaire setting if anybody knows a nice one to go with any of these stones. Thanks in advance

Without a doubt, using the info you have provided, the Whiteflash diamond is the pick of the bunch, great proportions! No contest as far as I am concerned!

The second diamond is ok, a tad on the deep side, it''s proportions are good, but not as good as the one from WF.

I agree with Lorelei. It might be the smallest, but it has the best numbers & looks. Pricing is great too.

Here are a couple more I threw in.

0.611 H/SI1, depth is a tad over 62%, but numbers are really sweet.

0.56 H/SI1; very pretty. Table seems to be quite small though. You gotta make sure you like that looks.

Opps...i actually ment the first diamond was the one that i thought was the best, not the second one. What don''t you guys like about the first one? Are the slight better proportions of the whiteflash diamond worth the decrease in size? Will they really make that much of a difference? Thanks

Numbers are really good on #1. What I am not wild about is the depth, at 62.6%. It is not deep...But I generally prefer slightly shallower stones.
Will it make that much a difference? Not really. The 0.25mm difference in diameter will, though. It''s incredible how noticeable can be such a small size increment.
I can totally see going for it, considering the very fair price and good size. I wouldn''t buy because of its 52% table, which I don''t like..But that''s a personal preference and should not have any influence on your choice.

The last one has the best cut. It will also face up about as large as most of the others. Many of the other ones had depths that were too high in my opinion, and would face up smaller than their carat weight and not the best proportions either. I also like the G/SI1 combo of the whiteflash stone.

Thanks for all your replies. I think i will be going with the diamond from WF. Now onto the setting. My gf wants a yellow gold setting which narrows it down quite a bit, especially since i dont have that much to spend on a setting. How do you think this setting would look on the diamond.

Yes I like that setting. It is very traditional. I have a similar setting with 6 prongs. Many folks like 6 prongs for security. But 4 prongs shows more of the stone and less metal.
