Hi Everyone. Some of you may recognize me from some of my previous posts. My diamond search is hopefully coming to an exciting conclusion as I narrow in on a few options. I have been looking for a 1.25ct near color-less "eye clean" diamond with a very good to excellent cut. My budget is somewhere between $5000 and $6000 for the center stone.
I told myself in the beginning of the diamond search that I did not want to go lower than an H in color, but many jewelers and other experts I have talked to say that an I color is ok too. I have seen H''s and I''s in person, and sometimes I see no difference, but other times (when the jeweler sets them in a white trough on their sides) I do see a yellowish color. I also told myself to stick to an eye clean SI1 for the value, however I do have one VS2 here just because it has such a nice HCA score. At this point I think these are all nice stone. Let me know what you think is the best bang for my buck, as well as your opinion on the H vs. I color issue. Thank you!
