I am working with Brian Gavin to make an engagement ring for my girlfriend and I would like some opinions. I like the shape of the BGD Eternal Grace but would like to customize it to a diamond setting. I am deciding between the BGD novela type pave and a BGD creation that I found on a previous thread. It was a hybrid between the fishtail pave and the novela. Either way the setting will be platinum and about 2.2 mm wide. Any opinions?

I prefer the pave on #2 (shared prong) for the shank, but the prongs for the solitaire diamond setting of #1 (novela) .

What I think of with the shank prongs on #1, is getting little fibres caught between the separate diamonds. Probably a stupid 'non-issue', but it was the thought that struck me, when comparing the two!

Both are lovely - your new FI will be in love with either one!!!

this...there's not a bad choice! What does it look like from the profile view?

I do like the band of the Second ring better

Like SLG said- I don't think you can go wrong either way

I don't have a profile view of the second one but they will have very similar profiles. Both will be flat from the side with the differences being the grooves for the prongs holding in the side diamonds. I am agonizing over this decision even though I know there isn't a bad choice but I feel I am leaning towards the second one as well.
