Hey folks,

Looking for a nice cushion which I plan to put in a setting similar to the BGD Legera. Trying for a Tiffany Novo vibe but doesn't have to be exact. I know the Novo is a 8 thin main cushion but I heard H&A and some other well cut cushions would work just as well. I've found a few that I was hoping to get your opinions on to see if I'm on the right path:

1) GoG - 1.5 G VS2 (http://www.goodoldgold.com/ecommerce/1-5ct-g-vs2-signature-modern-cushion-diamond.html)

2) BGD - 1.285 G VVS2 (http://www.briangavindiamonds.com/diamonds/diamond-details/1.285-g-vvs2-cushion-diamond-ags-104066516002)

3) BN - 1.5 G VS2 (http://www.bluenile.com/diamond-details/LD04332025)

Any input would be great

Thanks!

All good choices but I would throw the BGD cushion out since it would be noticeably smaller in terms of spread (please do research on how the BGD cushions are measured - this one would be approx. 6.05 x 6.05 while still at a similar price to the others). From there, it's a matter of personal preference. Some people love the BN signature cushions, some think they are too similar to rounds. I think the GOG diamond looks lovely but people don't care for the 4 main cushions at all. See what works for you! I think you're on the right track since these are all well-cut choices.

Thanks so much for the input! Ya, I added the BGD diamond since it sounded like folks liked him, but it didn't quite fit my specs.

When you say 'see what works for you', what do you think is the best approach for that? Seeing the diamond in person, or another process?

Thanks again!

Seeing the diamond in person is the best way to see for yourself how it performs and if the visual symmetry is appealing for you. With online vendors, it's obviously not always an option but with reputable vendors such as GOG, they can make a very detailed video comparison for you to observe. In absence of personal inspection, look at the video & ASET for good idea of how well the diamond sparkles. When I say "see what works for you," I mean look at the various types of cushion facet patterns out there (8 thin main, 4 main modified, H&A, AVC or antique, etc.) as see what you find most visually appealing. The branded cushions such as BGD or AVC will often carry a premium where-as you might be able to find a lovely generic cushion what meets all requirements. It's all personal taste! Have fun with it and let us know if you have any other specific questions or if you have any other choices to compare.

The ones you picked look lovely. Just make sure you get something with a solid return policy so that you have ample time to inspect & get it appraised.

Brian Gavin Signature cuts are great, but he has a more limited selection. I got lucky with mine. Keep checking every few days.
