Seriously considering purchasing this diamond (I have it on reserve). I would like everyone's opinion. There is a pic attached. Here are the specs:

Cut: Round
Color: H
Carats: 2.01
Clarity: SI1
HCA Score: 1.1 (depth 60.3%, Table 59%, Pavilion Angle 33.5%, Crown Angle 40.6%)
Price: $15.1k
Florescence: None
Polish: Excellent
Symmetry: Very Good
Girdle: Medium to Slightly Thick

The gemologist has told me that the diamond is eye clean from 6 to 8 inches away. Eye clean is very important to me. From what I can see, the most visible inclusions are on the edges of the stone, which might be able to be covered by the setting.

Please let me know your thoughts and if you think this is a good price.ld05285101.jpg[/quote]

Hi there. I'm not the expert you want chiming in, but I'll take a stab at it since no one has responded and you seem like you're in a hurry.

There is a certain look of a RB diamond with a 60% depth and a 60% table, aka 60/60 stone. Look it up in the search bar.

With the large table and shallow crown angle I believe you will see more bright light but less fire. It will face up larger and brighter but will have less colorful flashes than a stone with a steeper crown angle. The CA of 33.5 may be more complimentary with a slightly steeper PA.

And finally, ideally you would have an IS or ASET to look at it's light performance which we have no information about currently.

If you want a brighter less fiery stone, it could be nice (barring the information from an IS/ASET).

I think the price is fair if the look of this type of RB is what you're looking for.

What's the return policy? If you're really, really into it, buy it and if you don't like it return it.

I think it could be a very desirable stone! As you know an IS or ASET would help. Many would not buy a stone without those images sight unseen, but I think if the vendor has a good return policy it could be worth buying and seeing for yourself. It's a nice price, so you could end up with a great looking stone.

With the large table and shallow CA you will probably see less fire if that's okay with you. I have a very similar stone specs wise. It faces up nice and bright. People compliment it all the time. But personally I feel something is missing as I do not get colorful flashes or much fiery dispersion. That is my opinion only!

I'd agree with JDDN. Depending on the cut one advantage is that these can be pretty bright in dim conditions as they catch light. So you might not get the intense fire and scintillation but that's the trade off. Price is good but not a steal so it comes down to return policy and what you are looking for in a diamond.
