We''re looking at a couple of diamonds and don''t know which to choose. Please help!

#1
1.52 H SI2 (faint blue fluorescence)
Depth: 61%
Table: 60%
Crown: 36
Pavillion: 40.2
HCA 1.6 (Excellent) VG, EX, EX, VG
7.32 x 7.38 x 4.48

#2
1.41 G SI2
Depth: 61.1%
Table: 58%
Crown: 33.5
Pavillion: 41
HCA 1.2 (Excellent) EX, EX, EX, VG
7.18 x 7.25 x 4.41

both are from James Allen, both are "eye-clean" but the 2nd one has a small black flaw under the center of the table.
Links are here: #1 and #2

Questions:
Are they comparable (does the slight blue fluorescence compensate a bit for the H color vs. G)?
The first diamond seems to not have the flaws you''d expect in an SI2, am I crazy or does it look really too clean?
Does the black carbon on the second one make it a deal breaker, even though it''s supposed to be eye clean?
Which would you choose?
HELP!!!!

I don''t love the cut on #1, but the cut on #2 is better (closer to ideal). However, I''m not sure I could handle that inclusion. I''d really have to see it in person to be sure. So I think my advice would be to find another stone or two to add to the choices.

They both look good to me ... not an expert, however, I too found a stone that I really liked and was SI2 and "eyeclean" but if I looked close enough, since I knew where it was, imagination or not, I could see it. It drove me nuts so I had to move on to another stone b/c I felt as though I was settling for that one.

If you are worried about it at all, I would recommend taking it out of the mix and considering another one against which to compare the other stone.

Have fun with the rest of your search ... Keep us updated.

It''s just that it''s such a huge decision! I''ve seen so many diamonds that now I don''t even know what I''m looking at anymore

You guys are all so great, I''ve been lurking and learning but feel like my head is about to explode. Thanks for your help.

I found another SI2 that seems nice, it''s supposed to be eyeclean too. Let me know what you all think: 1.51 G SI2

Depth: 61.1
Table: 58
Crown: 35.5
Pavillion: 40.2
HCA: 1.0 (Excellent) VG, EX, EX, VG
7.33 x 7.37 x 4.49

So now JA has added two more choices into the mix, and there''s another one at GOG that looks promising, but since my brain has turned to mush from looking at all of these rocks I''m triple confused!

Here are the two others:

New #1
New #2

The second one seems shallow to my untrained eyes, but scores really well on HCA. Plus, both are less expensive (although smaller carat weight) than the first one from my first post.

You guys are probably tired of all the posts asking for advice! Sorry, but I''m desperate because I''m really tired of searching!

Don't worry Kitten - we are here to help! If you could let us know exactly what you are looking for, size, budget, colour and clarity, then we can find some contenders for you.

This one may be worth a look.

This one too which is in Firey Ideal Cut range!!

With all of the above, you would need to check with the vendors if they are eyeclean.

Lorelei you have no idea how much I appreciate the help! I actually did look at the GOG stone, and since you mentioned it too as a nice choice I actually posted about it in another thread (WW CutNut D). They are not too far from me (GOG) being located on Long Island (I''m in CT) so I may go visit.

Ideally in a perfect world where dreams come true, I''d like a 1.4+ carat, H+, VS2 stone to magically appear for around $7,500 - 8,000 but it seems not to be. So basically, I''m just trying to get close. Obviously, because you can''t hang out hear for longer than 2 minutes without realizing it, cut is paramount. Unfortunately, I stink at assessing cut. I have done the studying, but am not too good at the visualization! I feel like if I could just see the little beauties in person, I could judge a whole lot better.

Bummer is, it costs money to bring each stone "in-house", no matter which internet store you go to.

You are welcome Kitten! Go and visit Jon at GOG as you are close, that way you can see for yourself as he has in house diamonds which don't have to be called in. How great is that, you can go visit!!!
