Hello everyone, /www.pricescope.com/idealbb/images/smilies/3.gif[/img]/www.pricescope.com/idealbb/images/smilies/3.gif[/img]

This is my first post - very long time lurker. It was been great reading about all of the long/hard searches and seeing the beautiful final products! /www.pricescope.com/idealbb/images/smilies/3.gif[/img]/www.pricescope.com/idealbb/images/smilies/3.gif[/img]

I'm so excited to finally have a question of my own...and a bit nervous. My fiancé and I are on our second round of diamond shopping. We got engaged in Feb with a ring from a local jewelry store. We'd spent months online searching/reading threads PS, but still ended up with a complete dud (64.4% total depth says it all). The words "bait and switch"- seem to fit and the setting had some major flaws./www.pricescope.com/idealbb/images/smilies/3.gif[/img]/www.pricescope.com/idealbb/images/smilies/3.gif[/img]

Anyway, we've been looking at this diamond... wondering about the clarity. I've never actually seen a SI-2 in person… only SI-1, and those were beautiful, eye-clean stones. I know there's nothing like seeing it in person, but we'd like to get a few opinions first. /www.pricescope.com/idealbb/images/smilies/3.gif[/img]/www.pricescope.com/idealbb/images/smilies/3.gif[/img]

What do you think of this, can it be eye-clean? What about the numbers...price?

It depends on a person's tolerance. I think this stone could be really lovely, and the clarity wouldn't bother me since it is so well cut, and even in a whiter, cleaner color, so that's MY take.

Will it bother you or her, or other people, possibly, but the liklihood is very low. I would rather high color like your G, Excellent cut, and lower clarity. I think you did well with this stone, and it would be a lovely stone! I like it, and I personally would feel comfortable buying it, and if you see it with your eyes and REALLY don't like it, then there should be a good return policy, so make sure you have that!

Good luck, and sorry to hear about your prior experiences being so tough!!

I am a total beginner on this forum as far as posting advice goes, but in my searching I think you are paying a premium for that .01 weight above 1 carat. If you were willing to drop to a .9-.95 stone you might find you can get either a much higher quality stone for the same price or save yourself some money you can spend on extra cocktail weenies at the wedding.

If you look at dimensions too, you can often see that the difference is quite small. We are talking tenths of a millimeter.

All is nice about this stone.

As for my 0.2 on the SI2...

- you might want to size down the respective picture until it gets anything near the size of the 'object' and consider wether, given the respective dimentions, the inclusions made obvious by magnification and ligting might still offend. They wouldn't bother me - but this is your stone

It looks like the largest spec is less than 1mm (remember those 0.5 pens?). Not really a huge thing, but whatever lurks into a VVS is smaller than your average speck of dust!
