I'll be giving my final "spec sheet" to my significant other soon and want to make sure I am making a good decision. I have done a ton of research online, and want to go with Adiamor for the diamond and setting. The prices are awesome and my sister loves her ring from there. Their reviewers say their rings apprised for much more than they paid.

Here is my setting, and it will be in YELLOW gold for sure, including prongs. I am just a yellow gold girl!

Diamond specs will be size 1.1 to 1.25, excellent cut, and eye clean SI2. The size is important to me, so I am fine with an eye clean SI2.
I have heard mixed reviews about going with a J colored stone versus an I colored stone, so this is what I am having the toughest time deciding on.

Based on my setting, do you think I'll be okay with a J color, so I can get closer to the 1.25 range? If I go with an I, I'll end up around the 1.1 size, and I have read and it looks like the 1.25 range is when the diamond starts to look "bigger". H is out of the question, so is paying for the I over the J really worth it? They look so similar to me.

Any help would be so much appreciated. I have been obsessing over this and am ready to get this in his hands :)
Thanks so much!
Jessica

I assume this is a stock setting so it comes in different sizes instead of being made specifically to fit your center stone? if so, the halo would probably be the exact same size whether you get the 1.1 or the 1.25? (check with the vendor). in that case, I might be inclined to pick the I color

Since the stock size is for a 1.5 diamond, we will pay a customization fee for anything so I believe it will be amde to fit the diamond I choose.

I would go to a local store to compare diamonds of I and J colors. That's the only way you'll be able to tell how sensitive you are to color. If J looks good to you in real life, then go for it. Good luck!

I agree with Star. You really need to see the different colors in person. And make sure you compare apples to apples as a well cut J might look whiter than a less well cut I. Also, the diamonds in the halo will affect the perception of the main F-G color in the halo if you are color sensitive as it might highlight the color difference. Good luck!
