Need direction

I''m in the middle of trading up my yellow gold E-ring to a three stone E-ring with diamond in middle and sapphires on either side.
I''ve already met with local jewleler and have setting style decided on.. just a classic looking style in white gold.
I want to purchase the center stone from an online vendor because I feel I can get a better deal. Then I''ll have them set and sell me the sapphires.
I''m extremely nervous about where to start. I''d like to spend about $2500 on a .80 carat stone. I''m really liking the softer look of I or J''s. Being eye perefct doesn''t matter too much to me. Possibly SI1 range??
Where''s a good place to start this search? I''m also not set yet on whether I''d like round center stone or cushion....leaning towards all three round and somewhat same size to signify my three children.
Please help!!! I''d appreciate any words of advise, I''ve been at it since last fall and have been stcuk at this point because I''m terrified of making a bad decision.

First decision you need to make is round or cushion.
If you choose cushion, I would call Mark at Engagement Rings Direct.
If you want round we can help you find it.
To clarify, is the local jeweler making the ring and doing the setting of stones, and you are looking for the stones for it?

The jeweler will order the setting for me. Was quoted $525 for it & $80 setting fee.
They also quoted me about $500 each for "A+" quality and $855 for "AA" quality 1/2 carat sapphires.
They will set sapphires and diamond I supply.

I''d like to go with the traditional round cut diamond in center.
