Okay, upon browsing the WF site, I came across these diamond dangle earrings. I LOVE them, but cannot buy another diamond item for a while

! lol So, anyhow, I have my 2 X .25 studs from my smaller set of earrings that I''m not wearing anymore and I''m trying to figure out what to do with them and the dangle idea seems perfect. The cuts on the diamonds are ''very good'' so they''d be complimented by movement.

The price on the smallest .24 total carat weight set of WF dangles is $805, so that particular setting looks to be pricey. Is there any way it''d be possible to create JUST the hoop part with three small diamonds (1 or 2 points) on each wire for under $200 since I already have the main two diamonds for below? Really tiny ACAs aren''t very much, are they? I will call WF, but wonder before if this will turn into a custom job and be over budget. (I WILL have the two .25s set locally)

Any other ideas of who to contact?

Thanks for any opinions.

Quest?

I think their plain huggie hoops are around $400, so I think it is possible. I''d certainly contact them and ask them how much it would be if you supplied the dangle diamonds. (I''d send them to WF to set.)

Okay, I''ll do so. . .I was under the impression that WF didn''t set other diamonds, but checked their website and they do. It''s kind of embarrassing sending less-than-superior diamonds to them!!! lol

Personally, I prefer the look of the diamonds dangling from plain thin hoops without the diamonds in the hoops - I think they compete a little. What a great way to recycle studs you aren''t using! I love your new necklace too - saw it in your other thread!

Thanks about the necklace.

Here's a pair of dangles from the Costco website that I was looking at. I wasn't sure though if smaller stones would look okay with this style. . .the ones in the picture are .75 each, so they may look more appropriate hanging from the ear, BUT, that style is much more affordable, which is a plus for me. (I would do the martini prongs instead)

Personally I prefer that look - a little cleaner to me - and I love the martini prong idea! I think it would work with .25s. And hopefully it would be w/in budget too!

Ok, so you have to know that I''m still WAY in love with the diamond dangles that WF made for me, so it would be silly not to mention them as a possibility for you.....they can be done in white gold.

Mine are .75 each, but because the leverback wire is SO minimal, I think .25 stones would still stand out on these.

Al, yours are gorgeous! I LOVE them!

This week, I''ll look at a few B&Ms to see if they have any leverback pairs I can try on, just to make sure that style looks good w/smaller stones. My hair usually covers my ears, so they may not having enough size to make an impact. (but if the price is REALLY low, I may just go for it

Hi MC, just wanted to stop in on your thread and say that I think your earring project is a great idea! Looking forward to seeing what you come up with.

Thanks. I called and found a chain jeweler who will set them in WG martini leverbacks for approx. $120, so I''m going to go for it! Seems adding pave diamonds would go over budget and it''s imparative that I keep prices low until after my husband recovers from my other recent purchases

MC - one question.....do you have a preference on whether or not they move/swing?

I ask because one of the problems I found with stock diamond leverback settings is they were all stationary.....meaning the diamond mounting was fixed onto the leverback wire, so the diamond didn''t move freely.

If you''re good with this look, great. If not, you may want to specify to the jeweler that you want the diamonds affixed to the leverbacks by connecting rings....almost like jump rings...so the diamonds dangle from the leverback and move.

The jeweler might be able to order leverback findings, fabricate a "ring" from which to hang the stone, and then affix a similar "ring" to one of the prongs on the martini basket to accomplish this.

Thanks so much for pointing this out. I definetly do want the diamonds to swing. That''s a huge priority for me

Comparing your photo to the other ones, I can see the difference. I''m sure the jeweler I''m going to go to can do that, and if not I''ll find another. (it seems like a jump ring type of deal would be an easy addition

I thought it might be a good idea to add this pic to this thread because I know most people prefer white metals.

This is a picture of my diamond leverback earrings done in a white metal.

Alj,
Do you have any idea if your earrings setting are "standard" items yet? I don''t want to pay for custom yet I love the look of the basket.

Wow---those are very pretty!

My GF would love to find those under the tree!

Chas.

YEAH! Thanks Ellen!

Welcome!

alj, I''m sorry, I didn''t mean to steal your thunder. I should have let you post them, I was just so excited to see them.

Forgive me.
