Hi there
long time lurker, first time poster.. I recently upgraded the diamond on my engagement ring, and I'm conflicted if I want to send it back for another one or to just keep it.
The diamond I currently have has the following specs:
ROUND BRILLIANT
Measurements 6.40 - 6.44 x 3.97 mm
Carat Weight 1.01 carat
Color Grade F
Clarity Grade SI2
Cut Grade Excellent
Polish Excellent
Symmetry Excellent
PROPORTIONS
Depth 61.9 %
Table 58 %
Crown Angle 36.0°
Crown Height 15.5%
Pavilion Angle 40.8°
Pavilion Depth 43.0%
FLUORESCENCE
Fluorescence Faint
... the diamond is "eye-clean" but what bothers me if that under bright lighting you can see what looks like a dusty diamond for lack of better words (I think they are lots of pinpoints). I know the diamond doesn't score that well on HCA but I do like the performance overall in person.
I am considering to exchange it for this diamond:
ROUND BRILLIANT
Measurements 6.47 - 6.51 x 3.88 mm
Carat Weight 1.00 carat
Color Grade G
Clarity Grade SI1
Cut Grade Excellent
Polish Excellent
Symmetry Excellent
PROPORTIONS
Depth 59.8 %
Table 59 %
Crown Angle 33.5°
Crown Height 13.5%
Pavilion Angle 40.8°
Pavilion Depth 43.0%
FLUORESCENCE
Fluorescence Strong Blue
It has been confirmed that this diamond is "eye-clean" and is not negatively impacted by the fluorescence. I'm just wondering what your thoughts on this diamond is and if its worth it to even exchange the diamond or not? Am I just having too high of an expectation for an SI2 diamond? I only have a few more days to decide if I want to exchange the diamond as the return/exchange policy is up shortly so any advice would be helpful.
Thanks in advance
