Hello fabulous PS''rs!

I am pretty new to this site and have found it very helpful already. I thought since I am in desperate need of "ring gallery" design ideas for my engagement ring what better place to turn than right here! I am fortunate enough to have been given the latitude to design my own engagement ring as I wish using an heirloom stone from his family. The stone is a 3.57 OEC, H color and VS2 cut. It is a lovely stone. I have a fabulous designer I am using and we have decided to put it in a radiant halo setting with pave diamonds on the top and all down the shank. It will have a very antique look with lots of milgrain. The shank is going to be 3mm and I am going to have eternity bands custom made to fit snugly on either side of the ring. I want a fairly high setting (to accommodate for the wedding bands) but I am at a loss at to what to do in the gallery under the stone. I know I don''t like the "bucket" look and want to do something unique and different. I will post a picture of what the top will sort of look like (center stone will obviously be different), but I would LOVE to get some opinions of what I could do in the gallery. I am not worried about the bling. I live in Orange County (Newport Beach) and big rings around here are not uncommon. However I don''t want it way too gaudy. Something classy since I am only in my early 30''s.

I have seen people on this forum be so helpful and I am looking forward to seeing what people come up with! Thank you in advance for your help giving me ideas and any pictures you can post.

Thank you so much!!!!

Here are some ideas. I''m not sure I know what you mean by "bucket shape," so hopefully none of these have a bucket shape LOL. I think your ring is going to be incredible by the way!!! I hope you update us on the progress of the ring and some pictures when it''s all done!!!

Hi kcourseolle! Thank you so much for responding. Hahaha... yeah I knew I probably wan''t using the right terminology when I said "bucket" All the rings you showed pictures of are very pretty, but yes they all have that "bucket" look in the gallery. Well maybe not so much the 3rd one. I just want a design that might be more open that shows the culet. Does this make any sense to anyone? I might be using all the wrong wording so feel free to correct/help me out :-)

Has anyone seen any designs like this?

Sorry forgot to post!

THANK YOU NevereEndingUpdate. Picure #1924 is very nice and #1957 (which I will post below) is exactly what I was trying to find as an example. I like how the gallery is open and doesn''t really connect to the bottom of the center stone. I am thinking there has to be others out there that have designs like this. I think I am looking for something with a little softer lines. If anyone else has any pictures/ideas like this I would love to see them!

Thanks! Alison

Ahh, I see. You want a really open design without a basket. Here is an example of a super open design where you can totally see the culet. I actually love this design and it''s one of my favorite halos of all time. It''s alleycat''s ring:
