Greetings all,
My first post....have been browsing around this site for a while and I''m impressed with how helpful everyone is in this forum. Having said that, here''s my situation...
My husband wants to get me an eternity band for Christmas. Currently I have a 0.62RB FVS2 H&A in a 18k white gold tiffany 6 prong setting (very similar to the Nice Ice Knife Edge setting). My wedding band is a plain 18k white gold band. Both rings are 2.5mm wide. The problem is, when we went shopping for our e-ring, we asked the jeweller to set the basket lower than it should (I thought the ring won''t turn as much but now I''m not sure about that). The wedding band is not high but it''s still rubbing against the basket of the e-ring.
I really like the look of the shared prong eternity band (similar to the Precision Set #6204) but my husband likes the channel set better.
Here are my questions:
1)Would the shared prong ring look good with my e-ring? Or do you think the channel set will look better? If any one wears a tiffany solitaire e-ring with an eternity band (shared prong or channel set) could you please post pictures?
2)Is the shared prong eternity band safe for everyday wear?
3)Is there a problem if the band is set in 18k white gold?
4)If the basket of my e-ring is low, would the rubbing of the band against the basket increase the risk of the melee falling out?
5)I don''t mind the channel set ring that has a very thin band of metal above and below the melee (I like the diamond to show more). Have you guys came across any channel set like that?
6)I suspect the shared prong will sit higher than the channel set. Would I be better off getting the channel set then? I really like how exposed the diamonds are in a shared prong eternity ring...
Sorry for the long post. Any advise will be greatly appreciated.
Thanks
SB
