i have pretty much decided on cartier or tiffany''s (although i havent been into tiffany''s yet due to it being closed for inventory) and was looking for suggestions on which is better or if there is really any difference. i didnt know if there was more or less value going with one over the other or if there was a discernible difference in quality. im looking at emerald cuts between 1-1.5 carats, vs1 or vs2, with an H color or better. any help that is given would be much appreciated.

Look at the vendors online and compare their prices to B&M. You will save some serious $$$. If you still want the little blue box, I''m sure you can find a used one on craigslist and put the ring into that.

Lastly:

Send me the money you save by purchasing online.

I have a better idea! With the money you save buying online, purchase a gorgeous set of diamond studs to give to your new fiance, it will go perfectly with her new engagement ring

Welcome to PS!

It is a matter of preference as to which you pick. Your specs sound fine, also perhaps consider VVS2 in this shape depending on your comfort level in case some VS isn''t quite eyeclean enough in this shape and if you go for the bigger size. H or better sounds fine as step cuts can show more colour than rounds for example.
