Hey all, been a while since I posted....

I''m trying to help out a friend who''s currently shopping for a ring...he found these two stones...

http://www.bluenile.com/diamonds_details.asp?__fun_frm=i&track=view_details_btn&elem=img&pid=LD01078529&filter_id=0

or

http://www.whiteflash.com/princess/Princess-cut-diamond-335220.htm

I told him that both companies were good to go with and the stones are pretty comparable; only separated by 5 points. Price difference is $300 cheaper for the Bluenile diamond...and I told him that he can put that money towards the setting. Anyway, I know mostly about rounds, so i thought I''d ask the experts whose opinions and input I value highly. Please let me know ASAP!

hope all is well!

Jay I hope you get some good input, I just wanted to say hi and welcome back!

Thanks Lorelei, good to be back.

Anyone? Bueller?

Hmmm, the BN stone says not for sale. Has your friend got it on hold?

I dunno, it seems a bit of a toss up. I tend to "think" your friend would get more reliable feedback on the stone from WF, just from a few things I''ve heard from other posters about BN...But then, I''ve also heard of some getting nice stones from BN.

Frankly, on a Princess, I''d go with an AGS0 graded stone, and feel much better about it, no matter where it came from.

Would your friend consider a cut cornered princess like an X factor? The tips tend to freak me out with regards to chip-potential. (I saw several in his carat weight, and color/clarity range.)

I''d buy from WF because of the upgrade policy.
