Need advice - please help

This is a diamond that has been laser drilled BUT I really love everything else about it. I want to get a 5+ carat radiant diamond with a G or higher in color - SI3 or higher in clarity. I know this is not a popular statement but the truth is I want it as big as possible and I am willing cut corners to make that happen on my budget. This is the largest I could find with those specs....Should I buy??

I truthfully would go with a good quality simulant before I would spend thousands on a treated diamond. I honestly wouldn't pay $5k for it. If you ever decide to sell, you'll have difficulty and will probably lose a LOT of money.

There are numerous other problems just looking at that cert:

EGL...not very reliable

Clarity...SI3 generally means I1 on reliable certs

Cut...only good

Girdle...very thin means greater risk for chipping

Picture of stone...none (unless you have pictures you have absolutely nothing to even begin to evaluate this stone)

$29,000 can buy you a beautiful high quality smaller stone or something large and very poor quality. To each his/her own, but I think it would be a huge mistake, personally.

It is for myself 25 year anniversary present from my husband. I do not have pictures yet - they are willing to ship for my approval without buying because they have an office in LA which is near me. it is such a big purchase and I really am confused! Love everything but the laser drilling...

if you are interested I would call the vendor and ask about it...will they let you take it to an independent appraiser and return if you decide? what is the return policy?

Vendor says it is eye clean very good cut and they offer a 10 day money back guarantee - I have to pay shipping to return only.
They are sending photos soon. Its from B2C which is a vendor on this site which makes me feel a little better.

I don't think you can even know whether you like it at all without seeing a picture. I am not sure what it is you love about it (other than size) with such limited information, to be honest.

You could get a smaller high quality stone (around 2 cts.) and have a fine quality halo setting made for $29k and have a real heirloom instead. Take a look at some of these:

If you take a look here, you can see that radiants vary greatly in cut. This is why a cert without pictures is worthless.

OK I admit - it is the SIZE! I believe your right I am going to have to keep looking. I think I just got too excited that it would be big. I am not a fan of halo settings but I do think I can get a good quality 4-5 carat for my price range. Thank you for the time you put in to show me the “light"

You are very welcome! I really didn't want to offend you in any way, but I just very much hoped you would not make a mistake you might later regret! If you don't like halos, then there is always the option of making a three stone ring to increase the finger coverage! All diamonds are high right now, but larger stones are especially so.

Once you get over 4 cts., you are getting into the $50k plus range. James Allen is one of the least expensive vendors.
