Hi All,

I've been browsing wedding bands since August and have not really found anything I absolutely love. Most say a thin straight pave band will go with my 1.5ct rectangular cushion with tapered band. I do like the look, but I'm not sold, and I think I would like something a little more unique. (I am not interested in curved or notched bands)

My favourite rings I've seen to date I think are "bubble" type diamond bands (I included a photo of an example of this - its a cheap CZ ring, but you get the idea. I still haven't found one of these that I love, usually its the side profile of the ring that I don't like (usually some sort of bezel set) Anyway, I landed on this etsy page and fell in love with a ring recently, here's a link:

https://www.etsy.com/ca/listing/106015024/14k-white-gold-u-shaaped-single-prong?ref=shop_home_active_6&ga_search_query=single%2Bprong

I love everything about it, pretty from the side which is exactly what I'm looking for. It says the stones are 3mm so 10pts??? My concern is this is a little large and will overpower my engagement ring (7.4mmx6.3mm). My second concern is that I do not want stones on either side of my finger, so I asked if they could do a 7 stone version instead which is not a problem.

1. Any thoughts on the size? Should I go smaller with the diamonds - will it cover the whole top of my finger (im a 5.75)

2. Anyone think the different diamond shapes clash? - I find the single prong setting gives it sort of a pinched look between the stones which might compliment my e-ring?

3. The vendor uses G-H diamonds - my ring is a GIA I color. Do you think I will see a difference between the two? Should I request I color rounds?

4. If you have a ring this size with similar proportions can you post a pic?

TIA

Do seven pointers.
no the shapes do not clash, the compliment one another.
I have owned both a band with ten and seven pointers with seven stones each. But don't have pictures sorry.

I like smaller stones in wedding bands so I'd go even smaller like 3 or 5 pt range.

I also prefer smaller stones as I believe the focus should be on your ER.

Hmm, I get what you're saying about a thin band, and I do think they look great, but I want to do something different. I can see myself wearing them on different hands or one of the other - as well as together, so I'd rather something that's a little bigger on its own as well. Here's my inspiration - although the ring I am looking at had single prongs (so the rounded shape should stick out more). I cant seem to get this look out of my mind.

I think the 10 pointers give you that look already. If you want slightly different proportions then go for 7 pointers.

I personally love that look on your hands. I think your center stone is large enough to carry it off.
