Hi everyone. I am buying a diamond for my wife to put into a necklace setting. I am purchasing this diamond from a dealer that I have used in the past here in town. I am in a bit of a pickle here. Previous stones I have purchased from her have been GIA rated. This stone is EGL (Los Angeles I believe) rated. Here are the stats:

Weight: .91 carats
Shape & Cut : Round Brilliant
Total Depth : 62.5%
Table Width : 55%
Crown Height : 15%
Pavillion Depth : 43%
Girdle Thickness : Medium, Faceted

Polish : Very Good
Symmetry : Very Good
Culet : None

Clarity : SI1

Color : D

Flouorescence : None

Cut : "Tolkowsky Ideal Cut"

The price on the stone is $3900. The stone itself looks very good and has good "pop". With that said, I don't want to get screwed. What do you guys recommend I do? It will be difficult to send it to GIA and still his Xmas (custom necklace). Should I take it to an independent jeweler and get their opinion?

Thanks
