Need advice on specific diamond.

Hi All,

I'm considering purchasing this diamond for my fiancé: http://www.goodoldgold.com/ecommerce/1-7ct-i-si1-superior-round-ideal-cut-diamond.html

Can you please tell me if you see any issues with it and/or whether you think the price is reasonable? In the end I don't care much about color or clarity so long as it looks good to the naked eye.

Smart choice. Give up a little on color/clarity, and excell on cut. GOG does a good job of picking diamonds with inclusions that are wellplaced or not too noticeable for whatever reason. Ask GOG how eyeclean this diamond is.

Put the diamond in one of GOG's "perfect halo" settings and you'll be really happy. The designer settings they carry seem a little overpriced.

The 1.7 carat I/SI1's at Brian Gavin and White Flash come in at around $14K, so the price is definitely right for a hearts & arrows in this color/clarity.

Looks very nice! What are you thinking about for a setting?

To be honest, I'm struggling a little bit on that. I was thinking something more simple like this: http://www.goodoldgold.com/ecommerce/tourchiere.html to just let the diamond stand out, but then use GoG to make something similar in house so I'm not paying the premium for the designer name.

I'm open to suggestions!
