Hello all,
I''ve been admiring the information and opinions on these forums for awhile, but now that I need to make a decision on an engagement ring I''m in need of some help. I know it''s not very romantic but my fiance-to-be and I have been looking together and since I''m a size 4, we need to special order a ring so the surprise factor wouldn''t work for us since I couldn''t resize a regular 6 to a 4 (at least that''s what I''m told).
I think that I know what ring I''m going to get, http://www.benbridge.com/bb_store/catalog/Diamond-ring-in-platinum-p-8382.html
The problem I''m having is in deciding whether to go for this ring, which is in platinum or designing a whole new ring with a local jeweler. There are two jewelers in my small area and both work primarily with gold/white gold. If I choose platinum for my ring the price shoots up by $2-3,000, bringing the price to far more than Ben Bridge for the e-ring in the link above. Also, I don''t think that white gold would be the best for the design I''m looking at.
Also, in looking at the ring in the link, it''s not all that shiney. It is in person, but it photographs dull. Is this because it''s in platinum and just isn''t as shiney as white gold
Any help you could provide would be most appreciated!
Thank you!
Sarah
