Hi,
I'm looking for a center stone for an engagement ring. Could anyone give me advice about purchasing online? I'm skeptical about sending a few thousand dollars to someone I've never met in person.

Does this diamond look like a fair deal?

I've attached the ideal scope.

Price: $2400
Report: AGS
Shape: Round Ideal Cut
Carat: .767
Color: I
Clarity: SI1
Depth: 60.8
Table: 56
CrownAngle: 34.7
Crown %: 15.5
Pavilion Angle: 40.9
Pavilion %: 43.2
Girdle: Thin to Medium
Polish: Ideal
Symmetry: Ideal
Culet: Pointed
Fluorescence: Negligible
Measurements: 5.94-5.97x3.62

Thank you for your help!

No one can give you an answer to your question unless you post more information. Just a couple of basic facts like:

1.How big is the diamond
2 What color
3.What clarity
4.What dimensions in mm's
5.Depth
6.Table

That's just to get started....

edit: OK NOW I SEE THE INFORMATION! IT WASN'T SHOWING UP BEFORE!!!!

Sorry I pasted the diamond characteristics and they didn''t show up. They should be posted now.

Well the I-scope image looks pretty good, as it should with those angles. I''d just suggest that you''ve looked at different color stones in person, and you are happy with an I color. That is at the point I started to notice color in some stones, but an ideal cut like what you have there usually masks color well.

I can''t see the inclusion in the ideal scope image, but if you have the cert you should just make sure there isn''t anything too large on the table. An Si1 is likely to be eye clean, but not guarenteed.

Here is the cert.

The cert doesn''t come out all that clear, but I don''t see any large or clustered inclusions from what I would make out. My guess is that unless some inclusions were omitted by that scanned image, there is a high probability it will be eye clean. I can barely make out a couple of marks on it, which don''t seem to be over bearing. My si-1 looks a lot worse on paper, and I can''t see a thing.
