I''ve asked similar questions before, but really really need more advice to help decide whether to keep the stone or not, especially need advice from those diamond experts.
Bought a stone with the following parameters:
2.26 DVVS1 8.46-8.55x5.19
depth % : 61.0%
table diameter %: 59%
crown angle: 34.6
pavillion depth %: 44.3%
girdle: thin to medium, faceted
culet: none
fluorescence: mb

I am not very confortable with the cut & fluorescence after I came to this site and learned more. I called the store and was told that the cut is totally acceptable for a large stone like this. Is it true? Should the cut parameters be less strict for a larger stone?
The stone itself looks loverly to me, sometimes I wish I didn''t get trapped by those numbers

This really bothers me.

I also can''t find any 2c D H&A stones on the net. A lot of idea cut stones from bluenile, but how does one know whether they are H&A or not?

Thanks very much.

The pavilion depth is steeper than we would prefer and the outside diameter is pushing what we would consider to be acceptable. The only way to determine whether a diamond is "hearts and arrows" is to view the pattern... If you''re working with an online vendor, ask them to provide you with photographs of the patterns or at the very least work with a company that is known for being accurate with their assessment of H&A stones... If the vendor doesn''t have the diamond in their possession, then they really can''t provide you with an accurate answer as to whether the diamond exhibits a pattern of Hearts & Arrows or not. There is an excellent tutorial about H&A diamonds here on PS.

Thanks. Any more advice for whether or not the stone is acceptable for a large size?
I was told the 2.54c on gog is sold. Very interested in something similar. My stone is certified. It is overpriced comparing from what''s listed on bluenile.

no, a lesser cut is not acceptable in a large stone. there is no reason that it cannot be cut as well as a smaller stone. i would pass on this one personally (and on working with a jeweler who would tell you such lies). any reason you''re set on a D?

but then again if you LOVE it, what else matters really? certainly not numbers...

If you go to the cut search, there is a 2.24 G VS1 at GOG, 2.27 D SI1 at WF (not H&A but in their expert selection so probably close), 2.16 F VS2 H&A at WF ... i think larger sizes are getting tougher to come by right now! but it''s worth it to wait until the right one comes around. also, many vendors will specifically look for what you want, if you ask.
