Hi all, I've been browsing this forum for past few days and got a lot of helpful info.

I currently have a problem...maybe thinking too much?

Bought this Whiteflash 2.18 carat VS2 "A Cut Above" based on my limited research on ideal cut/2 carat/best bang for your buck/ideal table-depth proportions...etc

I haven't received the product yet, still waiting.

After buying, looked through the GIA certificate a bit more closely and discovered there's inclusion such as "knot"

Googling says this may be a problem. Wondering if any of you have the expertise to comment on this? Please take a look, appreciate your time

Hello and welcome to PriceScope, DiamondBuyer2023!
Has WF shipped your diamond yet? If not, contact them ASAP and ask if they think it is potentially problematic.

I think my only concern with this stone would be the graining I can see under the table. I'd want to see videos in different lighting

Based on the direct and indirect lighting videos, I think it's fine...I don't think I'm seeing any light scattering or haziness happening.

That diamond is from their Expert Selection line - not an ACA (A Cut Above). That could be why the knot was allowed but it doesn’t mean it has a negative impact on the diamond. Call Whiteflash and see what they say about it.

Agreed. I think a knot would exclude from ACA (But I'm not sure). Either way, definitely call them to ask

knot on the table is a big no for me.

I’m surprised that got a VS2 grade. I personally would not buy a diamond with a knot and certainly not a sizable one on the table. The issue of transparency isn’t going to really come into play until you start wearing it and gunk collects that you cannot get out. Moreover, the knot can widen, fracture, or crack. Most definitely cancel this diamond and good call on listening to your instincts!

GIA listed it as third in importance. Not sure how large or impactful the knot may be but the stone still shows as sold so I assume that poster went ahead with purchase? A knot would be a no go for me too though.

Hi!!!
I saw that, but the location and size relative to the table - UGH!
I was also concerned that the purchaser thought it was an ACA.

No, I had pointed that out up thread. He saw it before he thanked everyone for suggestions. Hopefully he comes back to let us know how he likes the diamond.
