Necklace to Ring

I would like to know if it's possible to take an antique necklace and use the metal and the stone in it to create a modern design ring. What would the process entail?

Thanks for the suggestion. I will go to my jeweler and find out if it's possible to do that. I think you may be right, and I'm sure they do this kind of thing all the time.
