Necklace help

Hi everyone,

I'm looking for a new necklace and have fallen in love with the garden butterfly necklace from Tiffany's.

Yes- I saw them a couple of weeks ago while visiting Boston. It was very cute in the case.

The problem with the rose gold version is depending on your skin tone it will just blend in. You see right thru the rose cut diamonds, so the whole thing becomes the same color and the rose cuts do not give much sparkle factor.

I did try on the flower ring with the rose cut diamonds-so same general feel as the butterfly. Loved it in the case- not so much on my finger. I just didn't care for how you could see right thru the rose cuts-it looked kind of "blah" on me.

A PriceScope member has the rose gold one. I think it is gorgeous, but she does have a beautiful dark skin tone. I'll look for her thread. I would probably choose platinum. I feel like those are really overpriced, though, and I would personally probably have someone like Victor Canera give me a price for custom. I adore the rose cuts!

In the picture I like the rose gold one better, somehow the rose gold seems to fit the supercute look of the pendant better. But I agree wholeheartedly with the above concerns about your skin tone. If you are sure you are going to get the necklace, you can order the rose gold one and exchange it for the platinum if you don't think it looks good.

But yeah, it's also overpriced.

I have very fair skin, so I don't think rose gold would blend in too much...

Oh wow, it looks gorgeous! Are there any modelling pics of this necklace?

When looking at the pics on the website, I think that the platinum and rose gold necklaces look quite different somehow.

Does anyone see that, too?

They don't look different to me. I think it is just the difference in the way they photograph. I adore the rose gold, but I am afraid it would blend right into my skin tone. I love every one of ksmom's pieces, though. It is one of the best collections on PS, in my opinion.

Maybe it would be best to order the RG first, and if it doesn't work well with my skin tone, I could exchange it for the platinum.

I recently bought a rose gold Roberto coin cross necklace, and I love how the rose gold disappears into your skin. It gives the necklace a very delicate look, like the cross is floating on my neck. I voted for rose!

Oh, did you get the rose gold tiny treasures cross? I have the white gold one, but my daughter's baby has red hair and I think the rose gold one would be just beautiful on her (when she is older, obviously).

Let me just add- I LOVE rose gold. Almost all the jewelry I've been adding lately has been rose gold and I have fair skin. I also love how the rose gold chain disappears into my skin, but I have a very sparkly diamond pendant with pink diamond halo on it and it really pops! When I tried on the rose cut diamond Tiffany pieces, the color of my skin showed thru and there just wasn't much sparkle, so they just didn't show up. I didn't try on the butterfly pendant-so maybe it would look different, as I do think it's adorable.
