I am using shades of pink in our wedding and started thinking it would be nice to incorporate navy blue instead of black. I am facing a challenge with my initial navy or midnight blue tuxedo hunt. Any ideas on a nationwide tux shop that rents navy tuxes or maybe really nice navy suits??

I''ve got to be honest, navy tuxes often look like black that faded to me...navy suits are fine IMO, but it''s a hard color to perfect. I''d still stick with black if you want tuxes...

If i decide to go w/ navy BM dreses, would it be Ok to have a balc tux w/ navy vest and tie? I am thinking to accent the navy w/ pink flowers.

I personally think it''s fine, especially if it''s a "lighter" navy if that makes sense. I was just in a wedding a few months ago where the guys wore black suits and the girls wore a lighter navy dress. It looked really pretty! Let me see if I can find a picture without faces for you...

Not the best picture, but it was the only one I could find that wouldn''t require a lot of editing! But you can see that the suit and the dress are clearly different colors which I think is the key...

Definitely. I would also say that matching navys is horribly difficult, and it might actually look better to have different colors than to try for a match and miss.

Just had to chime in here! I was a bridesmaid last month and we did navy dresses with shades of pink flower.
The guys had black tuxes with silver vests and IMO it looked great! Not too matchy.

I''ll see if I can get a decent pic:

Hmmm, that was a little blurry but you get the idea.

To give you a better sense of the BM dress color, it looks pretty dark in that pic, but it was more of a "lighter" navy as neatfreak suggested above:

thanks for your great ideas. I''ve been searching the internet and I am starting to think a black tux w/ navy vest and tie, navy BM dress and pink floral accents will be nice!

Here is my BM dress in the blue color. Its called royal, so I will have to see how it looks in person

and perhaps a tux like this :)

here is the dress in the pink i was originally considering.

Ooh, I like the blue! If you had pink flowers and details in front of that dress, I think it would look really great.

We tried to keep black out of our wedding and the boys wore navy blue tuxes (except my brother who wore his black military uniform). I thought it looked really great and I love how it went with our blue colour scheme. You can check out my pro pics thread here if you like!

ETA: They rented theirs at Moores. I'm pretty sure Freeman's has them as well, and I think they have more choices for the vest colours and styles.
