Why are you set on ebay? I would say the large large majority of "dealers" on ebay won''t give you a deal but WILL rip you off.

Only deals to be had on ebay IMO is if you want a signed piece secondhand or if you are looking for antique stones sometimes you can find something nice but you need to know what you are looking for.

Not set on EBAY, just looking for a good deal. I have been looking at secondhand on there like used cartier "(got the idea from another poster last month) just don''t really know enough about it to know what im getting into. I guess I just need to go into like a Jareds, as was suggested to me here earlier, and compare diamonds and look at the difference b/w their peerless cut diamonds. Im kind of overwhelmed with the possibilities.

It appears that way! Please please don''t do ebay if you don''t know what you are doing. Contact one of the many wonderful vendors recommended here (Brian Gavin Diamonds, Good Old Gold, Engagement Rings Direct, High Performance Diamonds, etc.) and they will help you get what you need and make sure you get a gorgeous ring in the process.

Exactly,
I guess I''m trying to find a good deal on a diamond, and there just don''t seem to be any good "deals". So far it just seems like you get what you pay for, and you have to sacrifice something to get something else. Ive brought down my expectations considerably since I started looking, and have almost come to the conclusion Im just going to have to fork out alot of money (for me) for a really nice ideal cut diamond in the .75 to .85 range. Alot of money being greater than 2000 for me. Ive posted on here three times and my size keeps getting lower haha, I just can''t spend 3k on something like that right now. Im saving all I can right now and just am going to see which I''m willinng to sacrifice (size being the first choice). It seems to me that a smaller, more radiant diamond will appear larger than a bigger less radiant one. I do want to get the best I can for my soon to be, I do want to be realistic about prices though.

Ditto.

Look we have heard so many horror Ebay stories, people come here and tell us, Oh gosh I bought this stone, and am so upset.
Going with any of the PS vendors is a safe way to go indeed... You'll be able to sleep at night knowing you got a good deal with any of them.

Ebay= stay away.... Too much of a risk in my book.

I''ve found great antique diamonds on Ebay, but other than that, I would stay away. If you do decide to take a chance, really know what you are looking for and ask TONS of questions.

Everyones budget is different and each person''s diamond is just as important to them as the next PS''er here no matter what the size happens to be. Budget is an important consideration or determinant of our choices. However, you will likely be able to get the help here to find the best stone possible for your situation. In fact, one of the longest running threads that generated a great deal of interest I have seen on PS was concerning a ring under 0.5 ct!!!!
As far as "getting a deal" is concerned. Compare the diamond prices (and quality) of PS vendors to B&M stores. You will likely get a new appreciation for PS vendor prices. Everyone here wants to see you come away with the best diamond possible for YOU and will be glad to help.
