Natalie Portman's "eco-friendly" engagement ring

Eco-friendly or not, it's very nice!

And how nice of the press to indulge us with information about the RING!?

It is a beautiful ring but I've actually seen many more rings on PS that I liked much better.

Funny, how a 35,000 dollar ring no longer seems that expensive to me. The pricescope effect.

It looks very pretty though. But, I too, have seen rings I liked better on PS.

I have been wondering why Nina (Natalie Portman's character in "Black Swan") wears her jewelry _the whole time_, even when during class, because usually ballet dancers are not allowed to. Apparently Jamie Wolf, who designed the engagement ring, has designed every other piece you see her wearing in the movie, too.

+1....PS has 100% skewed my thinking!

we looked at rings that cost more than that.......and she certainly brings in more $ than we do.

i applaud her for being clear about her desires and getting a ring that reflects her values but still has bling.

+2 to that ladies! I'll think about the great deal we got on our ring and even THAT is still a LOT of money for a ring in comparison to what a lot of people spend. Now when I see an estate ring I'm like "Wow only 22k for THAT!" LMAO! Only 22k! If it was ONLY 22k I'd have one, but 22k is a LOT of money!

I guess when you see so many ladies sporting expensive rocks you become immune to the actual real world cost. That an many ladies on here have worked towards their size by upgrading, so we see a slight change at a time (which is also unusual the concept of upgrading...I'm finding that not many people even KNOW what an upgrade it, lol).

That being said her ring is valued at 35k meaning they probably didn't pay that. So IMO its a modest ring for a celebrity to be wearing considering all the other bling being sported right now.

I think it's amazingly sweet that he went out of his way to do something for her ring that she would be proud to wear, since she is very much vegan in her style/life choices. Is it something I would have picked? No, but it totally suits her. It's what I would have expected her to wear. And I doubt she would have wanted a super blingy ring that cost a ton of money, whether they have the money to spare or not.

I think it's funny how people assume things because she's a celeb, or wonder why she didn't spend more. Just because you have money doesn't mean you're going to spend it on bling.

I think it's lovely. But I assumed "antique center stone" meant OEC and I don't think it is. I think it's wonderful that her fiance really took into account her preferences.

Her ring is very pretty and it's wonderful that it's recycled.

The only downside is that when people read about this, they may feel that a recycled ring is unobtainable for the general public. For most $35K is still a bit expensive!

The thing is, that *IS* a lot of money. 35,000$ for a ring is pretty expensive. It's just interesting how skewed our thoughts can be because of PS.
