I’m a long time lurker who’s just begun looking for ring for that long time somebody and I’d like some advice

We’ve been dabbling in rings and have narrowed it down to a round solitaire ring that narrows as the band approaches the diamond similar to the WF sleek line. (http://com.pricescope.com/photos/whiteflash/category1023/picture2739.aspx) .

My Question:
What rings are out there that are similar to this style?
What is this style called? (narrowing band?)

My request:
Please post some picks or links to rings like the above. (narrowing band)

Thanks in advance. I’m trying to collect as much information as possible and look at as many options as possible. Who doesn’t on this forum?!

It's usually called a tapered band.

BUT that just means that it narrows as it gets closer to the head. If you want a band that comes UP and touches the head, rather than is just a band with a stone plopped on top, THAT part is called a cathedral setting.

The Legato Sleek Line (with or without pave) is my favorite tapered setting, hands down! In addition to the Sleek Line setting, the WF Fine Line is also a tapered cathedral setting.

Another setting I like is the Vatche Royal X-prong - there are also channel and pave versions of this setting, all available from GOG.

Mark Morrell''s Torchiere and Sunburst settings also taper toward the stone.

Tapered band! thank you! I''m so much more savy now.
