Dear friends,

In the past months, we have faced some unforeseen problems, which took some time to solve.

One of these unforeseen problems was a trademark-issue. I must admit that in the process of setting up and building our business, we did not pay sufficient attention to this matter, and as one could expect, we were suddenly faced with a serious problem. Apparently, another company already had the trademark-rights to the type-name, which we used for our rounds, and they objected to our use of this wording.

This situation called for some crisis-management. Very soon, we decided that fighting our cause would just cost us a lot of trouble and money, while the outcome would remain unsure. In stead of enriching the lawyers, we decided to rethink our branding and laser-inscribing in order to come up with a more sustainable solution.

This is how we will work from now. In stead of giving a type-name to our diamonds, like X-by-Infinity for rounds and Y-by-Infinity for princesses, and so on, we have decided to laser-inscribe all our stones, regardless of the shape, with the wording ‘Crafted by Infinity’, in which Infinity will be replaced by our company-logo. As you may have noticed, some wording on our website has also been changed, and we will have a new section on ''Diamond-cut'' up and running within a few days from now.

I will keep the rest of this post short, because I understand that it is at the border of self-promotion. I just would like anyone to be aware of this situation, so that nobody continues to use the old wording.

I thank you for your understanding.

Live long,

I would like to comment that when other vendors for Paul and I got a letter from the US trademark holder it was a real shock. Paul immediately responded to the trademark holder and expressed his desire to come to a peaceful resolution. The trademark holder also was very reasonable and both parties came to a quick agreement. While the names were not identicle, they were close enough to cause rightful concern to the US patent holder and I believe that had Paul absolutely did the right thing by immediately agreeing to change the name of his incredible stones.

My compliments to both men for comming to a quick and peaceful resolution. I like the crafted by designation better anyway. It really is craftmanship to turn out diamonds like these, as any of the cutters of the better stones can attest.

Sorry to hear about the problem but am glad it got resolved without a bunch of fighting.
I like the ‘Crafted by Infinity’ logo.

Cool heads and reason triumphed from the very beginning in a potentially contentious issue - a tribute to two real gentlemen in this trade! Let the craftwork continue!
