I was perusing Litnon when I came across this zircon. Apparently it will change colour if you leave it in the dark for a few days to red, and quickly turn brown again when exposed to daylight. Has anyone else seen this type of thing before, or why it happens? Seems very awsome to me. Shame the stone is expensive! :p Anyway, just thought I'd share.

It drives me crazy that a lot of the gems pictured on that site have already been sold.

Haha, yeah I don't know why they do that! I bought a stone in January from them and it's still there, lurking around like a ghost!

Tenebrescence is a lot of fun - you can find it also in sodalite (hackmanite), diamonds (chamaleon), tugtupite and a few other gems. I love it and I always snap up tenebrescent gems when I find them.
