Hello all,

I just want to know if anyone else has experienced this with their lab grown diamond? I have had a lot of great help on this forum with sourcing a lab grown and absolutely fell in love with a 2.37CT but today as I was at the jewelers to make a custom setting for it I went into shock. Next to another diamond at the jewelry store, mine was clearly tinted! Has this happened to anyone else? I thought mine was absolutely perfect until today. I feel heartbroken that it's not "white"? Thanks you all!

Hi, I’m no diamond expert but there’s only 1 grade higher than E being D.
Colour is judged with the stone upside down on a white background.
I’m wondering if the other diamond had high fluorescence, that can make the diamond seem bluer which in comparison your eye might interpret as whiter.
Was it the same carat weight? As diamonds get bigger their body colour is more apparent or perhaps it might have been a better cut diamond than yours.

Also, I would double check the engraving on the side of your lab diamond to make sure it matches the certificate.

Was it this stone you are referring to?

What lighting was in the shop?
Did you view them side by side in other lighting?
Did yours show a lot more sparkle/fire?

Perhaps the other was a more 'spready' cut which may favour white light return making it look whiter/brighter but at the expense of all other aspects of performance?
