Hello Everyone!

I wasn''t sure whether to post this in Rocky Talky or SMTR, so I''m putting it in both places.

Well I spent the day literally at Whiteflash, only coming home for a few minutes before heading back over there. I wanted to give my fellow PSers an eyewitness report. First, I was with Brian Gavin for the whole day. He is amazing. He really, really knows his stuff and he is very funny, and very witty. I really enjoyed talking with Brian. He also shared with me the famous ACA''s. Well, can I just tell you, in a word, these diamonds are spectacular. I don''t care if you are talking about .01 pointers, or .50 carat or 1.00 carat or 3.00 carat, they are just simply exquisite and as nice, if not nicer, than any RB I have seen at Tiffany. And you know coming from me, that is saying something. They are just incredible.

Many of you know that my diamond is not an ACA diamond but Brian assured me that it is beautiful. (Can I tell you though, that compared to the ACA''s, my diamond simply was not as beautiful. It means a great deal to me for sentimental reasons, but boy can you tell the difference. And my diamond is really pretty, so I can only imagine the typical diamond compared to these ACA''s. But I digress...)

Back to WF. I was there because I am going to reset my diamond. The prongs are crooked and just completely out of whack for the stone. Brian suggested a combination of age and poor execution on the prongs had created the problem, but it is in need of urgent fixing. Of course, those of you who have been sweet enough to correspond with me about my diamond know that what I really want to do is upgrade that baby, and I can tell you that I, without question, even if I have $50K to spend, will absolutely go to WF for that diamond. No kidding. Brian is simply incredible and I have never, ever seen RBs that look like his ACA''s. Never.

But for now, the 2.00 or 2.5 carat upgrade is out of the question. Before taxes, my new Legacy ring cost well north of $15K, and that same month I got a trip to Lanai and Maui for my birthday. So that isn''t happening. But I got a chance to see almost EVERY single WF ring that Brian makes regularly. The craftsmanship is superb. (I know some of you may be wondering, "Did Brian pay her to say this? Did he give her a discount?" The answer is NO to both questions, including, unfortunately the part about the discount. LOL Brian reminds me of Charles Lewis Tiffany, the founder of Tiffany. I mean it. He has the same POV that Tiffany had when he first opened the doors to his NY store. And that attitude was simply this: "Create jewelry that is exquisite and set a price that is fair for what the customer is getting. And then leave it. No haggling. No dickering over nickels and dimes. It is what it is and if you think you can get that quality elsewhere, good luck." And I have to say, as to quality, the workmanship speaks for itself.

Here is what I saw:

Legato, Tiffany knife edge plain and with pave diamonds, W Prong in platinum, W Prong in 18K yellow gold, W prong in rose gold, Rhapsody, round halo, U-Prong champagne ring, sleek line, half bezel set (the true love line), and many, many others. They were ALL handmade, custom for the stone and all INCREDIBLE. It was hard to narrow down the choice.

So, for those of you who are considering WF, and wondering if the ACA''s can compare with Tiffany or Cartier, the answer is YES, they do that, and more. They are spectacular. And if you are wondering if the craftsmanship of the rings is as it looks on the website, I can tell you the answer is YES. It is the same level of quality and attention to detail, with each ring made by hand for the stone. WF is a special company and Brian Gavin is the soul of that company. I felt lucky to spend the day with him, and I look forward to picking my new setting to get me to my 15th anniversary 4.5 years from now. LOL Feel free to ask me any questions you have about my experience there and I will do the best I can to answer them.

XXOOXX

isabelle - I am just green with envy!!! You lucky lucky girl. I got to speak to Brian over the phone, but it would be awesome to meet the man who had part in the stunning diamond I now own (well, SO actually owns it at the moment, but another's thread). I would really love to meet Lesley too and take her a bottle of bubbly - she too played such a big part of my ering purchase, I would love to sit down and share a glass or two with her to celebrate my gorgeous ring!

I would love to see all those ACAs in person, and just spending hours drooling over pendants, studs and settings. You are one lucky lady!!

Thanks Honey. I felt lucky. Soon I hope to feel grateful with one of those creations on my hand. LOL

I am so jealous

I have been trying to figure out a way to plan a visit there. My nephew lives in Houston so if I could think of a reason to descend on him and his new wife for a day or two I would totally be there! WF is building my ring right now. I wonder if you saw it too? I couldn''t go for the ACA (mine is a princess), but now I''m thinking I may upgrade later down the road. My ring is a 1.01 GIA princess in a wide yellow gold cathedral setting. I don''t know if it is together yet or not. The ship date is the 20th, but I think that is because the wedding band is being brought in from some where else. That would be so awesome if you saw my ring! I know I can''t wait to lay eyes on it. James is my sales person (Celina was helping me, but she is not at WF anymore). Did you get to meet everyone? I''d love to hear every detail!! I have been working with them for months now narrowing done just what I wanted. They have been fantastic at every step along the way. It''s so cool to hear that they are as personable IRL as on the phone and computer. Thanks so much for sharing!

Sounds like a wonderful trip; you lucky duck!!! Thanks for sharing

Hi Teacherk-- I didn''t see your ring. But I only saw a small sample of rings, and only one that was custom made ready to ship out. It was increíble. I didn''t meet Celina, but everyone I met was really nice. I did see the cathedral setting example, and it is really stunning. I think you will LOVE your ring.

Hi Skippy--I DO feel lucky. It was cool. :-)

Hi Isabelle!

I''m new here, This is only my second post! I wanted to tell you that this message you just wrote about WF has cinched my decision..I have decided to get my RS thru them. I will be getting the tiffany knife edge for my new 1.28 upgrade. Your kind words about them really shows what a fine company they are. I have been in touch with Katie, and have been emailing back and forth.
She is very nice! I have been doing so much research,
