My unclaimed property check came!

I had posted a while back about finding my name on the dept. of revenue site for my state saying I had "unclaimed property." At that time, I innacurately titled my thread as being about unclaimedproperty.org, however, that site didn''t list that I had unclaimed $, it was the dept. of Revenue that did.

Anyway, I wanted to update and say the check came and it was for a healthy amount!

For anyone living in Washington State who wants to see if they have a potential claim, you can click here:
http://ucp.dor.wa.gov/

There are no fees or anything. You just have to prove you are the person listed in the claim.

My mother AND father were both on the list for their state. I never heard how much Dad was owed but my mother had some bond thing from her God parents that had matured and wasn''t claimed. I only knew to search for her name because your thread, so thanks!

Wasn't it? I thought it would take months and months

ETA - also, just in case anyone decided to skip reading the original post, be sure to do a search under maiden names. . .that's how I came across my claim.

Yeah the money did arrive at the perfect time and I was contemplating buying some fun new holiday stuff and gifts, but decided the money is going into the bank. I''m *trying* to be good and quit buying more than I need.
