My three loupes.

The top one is a GemOro 20X 21mm Triplet. (made in China)
The middle one is a Belomo 10X 21mm Triplet. (made in Belarus)
The bottom one is a Eschenbach 4X + 6X = X10 30mm. (made in Germany)

The optical quality glass lense on the Belomo is good but it can't compete against the German made Eschenbach glass opticals. I use the bigger 30mm loupe for viewing coins and watches. The viewing object comes in sharp, clear and color correct. View attachment 492754

DF, I just bought a new one, and it's the best thing I've ever used. I have 2 x Belomo, a couple of Asian ones of various prices, a good Antique one, this one is an expensive Asian made one but it has a switch with a light in it so when you look straight down it illuminates the inside of whatever you are looking at it lights up the inside of the stone so you see the inclusions clearly everything in diamonds, gemstones it shows up everything. I swear best thing ever!!!

Karl - that sounds like my house except my family members have a habit of taking my callipers and not putting them back and they disappear. I'd lost 3 to 4 sets of them and had to go and buy another pair.....

No I think it's a just a Chinese made one and it was only expensive because I bought it from a gemstone and jewellery and bead retail place that marks up everything several times. I picked it up and played with it and couldn't walk out without it I liked it that much it has LED loupe, triplet 10 x - 20.5mm True Day Light written on it. They had two on display and a few new ones, I opened one of the new ones and didn't like it so I took a scratched & battered one they had on display because everything was just so clear looking through it.

The optics are not bad but not the best but the light ring is the best I have tried. The single or duel led designs have to much glare.

Someday I'm going to get the nikon, they hold their own with ones that cost 3 times as much as long as you don't mind the 13mm lens.

I've picked up loupes with lights in them before too both more and less expensive than this one, and I've always put them back same thing a weird glare or they aren't great to look through on your eyes for any length of time, so I've always assumed that the whole light thing in loupes was just a gimmick. But this one is just right.

Yes, VRBeauty...the engraved loupe was part of the surprise....as if going to Whiteflash/Houston,
seeing Esperanza, and meeting some great people wasnt enough!
