My vatche baguette setting broke. Well actually a baguette broke during sizing. It should have been a simple size adjustment. I had a local jeweler who has good reputation locally do it and they are taking full responsability. They knew that vatche''s warranty was only good if vatche worked on the ring and they assumed responsibility. They cut me a check for the cost of the vatche ring and gave a free white gold setting (the vatche was platinum).

I am going to reset my stone in January after the holidays but for now, the temp setting is allowing me to enjoy my stone for the holidays. The solitaire is actually growing on me! I''ll probably go back to the baguette setting but maybe I''ll just stick with a solitaire (switching from white gold to platinum) and keep the extra money from the difference.

What do you all think of the solitaire look?

The stone is 1.63ct. The eternity band is 2.5ctw

OK, having trouble uploading shot. Will email admin :)

Ow I like that, very pretty. I don''t know what the Vatche setting looked like but I might keep that for a while if I were you! I am a plain jane and like simple. Beautiful!

Assherisme,
I had not seen your ring and I am glad you posted a pic; love it!!! Sorry about the ring but the temp looks great!

HI:

Sorry for your trouble, but the temp. looks great!

cheers--Sharon

Well, as you know that is how mine is set, and it is the same size! I do love the Vatche with baguettes, though. There is a new Vatche solitaire that is beautiful, though. Let me find the link. Here is my 1.63 solitaire.

gosh, i''m sorry your setting broke but so glad the jeweler who worked on it for covered the costs. I like the look of the solitaire and think it''s kinda cool that you can enjoy it for a while and then decide how you want to reset.

Sounds like a good jeweler to cover the cost and give you such a lovely temp setting. I really like the set, it''s a fun change, plus a really classic look. Wear it in good health.

Its growing on me. Thanks for the complements. Diamondseeker, we really are diamond twins now :) But I like your band better than mine. I choose channel set though because I was afraid of the girdle rubbing on the head of my ring.

Regarding the jeweler, yes, very very ethical. My neighbor recommended them really highly. They said their insurance should cover it. They kept the setting. I guess scrap for the platinum and they will keep the remaining baguette.

I was all set to send it back to vatche and they talked me into doing it inshop. Said it would be easy and quicker.

I deposted the check into my account and will hold off on any decisions until the new year. I loved the baguettes. I also love love skippy''s ring with the trillians. When she posted it, I was drooling over it.

I may end up taking the practical route and just switching from the white gold setting to platinum and keeping the rest of the money for my children''s college fund. I have my older 2 kids all saved for and we are working on the younger 2 kids funds.

I alslo love a 3 stone look with side rounds. But that would be way down the road. Not going to spend any more new money for a long time.

Even a simple solitaire has so many choices.

But for now, I love how the stone is really highlighted.
