Re: My rose gold BGD Truth x 3 reset--Glamour shots are here
I have been dying to post handshots, sorry about the iphone quality, my other camera got mangled by the kiddos. Sooo, I've been doing a bit of shopping. I was fortunate to buy Dreamer's BGD dream band, and sent it to BGD to be polished and sized. I was afraid of the girdles of the dream band rubbing against the baskets of the three stone, so I ordered a skinny rose gold spacer from June Designs on etsy. It provides the protection I needed almost invisibly! I love the combo of the half eternity and the three stone. It looks so romantic to me.
Then, I was perusing ebay one day on the bus ride home, totally minding my own business, when I spied a suspiciously tall crown on a lonely forlorn vintage ring. Though the pictures were terrible, I saw some kozibe effect in one of the pics and they guy had a great return policy so I took the chance. One quick bid and it was mine. It is a darling OEC in an illusion box setting, perfect for my right hand!!
It was a size 5, and the shank was very thin. The diamond is gorgeous though! It has about a .40-.50 in the middle and two single cuts on each side. the middle diamond has a tint of warmth from the side, but the clarity is awesome and the cut is so, so pretty. A quick tune up and sizing from my jewelery and it sparkles and shines like crazy! I love it.
Re: My rose gold BGD Truth x 3 reset--Glamour shots are here
Thanks, ladies! I am feeling pretty spoiled and somewhat guilty about my recent spending. I guess it will take some time to get over it??
LOL. Lame problem to have, I know. I have been wearing the three stone for a few weeks now and have been having some doubts crop up about it.
I love the finger coverage of my new three stone, love the quality of the BGD setting...But I am bothered that the stones don't "match". I am kind of having some remorse about choosing the three stone setting for the OMC instead of getting a period (antique) setting for it. I feel like the three stone would look better with a RB in the middle now that I have it and have been wearing it. I kind of feel like I jumped the gun on setting the OMC into it. I LOVE the BGD setting, it is gorgeous, but I wish I had a stunningly cut RB for the middle. That said, I also wish I had an antique setting for my OMC to go with it's wonky, antique personality. The problem is, my jewelry budget is dry for now, and I can't really go back and change anything.
I also feel guilty for not loving my first e-ring enough for it to be "enough". I love the diamonds in it, and though they are smaller than I wanted, they are cut beautifully, . However, I have always hated the platinum setting. It looks dated to me, is really blocky and heavy, and now is in need of repair for a ding in the shank that is scratchy to my skin. I don't want to put any more money into the existing setting, yet I cannot afford a reset now. I really should have had the Truth x 3 made to fit the diamonds in my existing e-ring (.30/.50/.30) and then set the OMC in a beautiful, antique setting. Oh, regrets are a pain.
I feel silly even writing this. Most people I hang out with do not think about jewelry or diamonds, and would be happy to have a ring this lovely. But somehow, my want is not satisfied with this ring.
What would you do, or have you done when you find out a project didn't turn out to be what thought you wanted all along? Should I just chill for awhile to see if it grows on me?
Please, if this post sounds all over the place, maybe I should just have a glass of wine and STHU. lol. Maybe I am PMS-ing and a big whiner.
Re: My rose gold BGD Truth x 3 reset--Glamour shots are here
My honest opinion is that you're doing too much too quickly. Buyers remorse is EXTREMELY common. And you've been buying A LOT. So you might have a lot of different targets for that remorse. S-T-O-P. Stop spiraling. Take a breath. See how your feelings shake out over the next month or two or ten. Unless you're up against some kind of return deadlines (and I don't think you are - as one was custom & several were 2nd hand purchases.)
FWIW, the rose gold looks great on you & you have some very nice pieces AS IS. There's no need to rush into anything else or any other switcheroos. For now. Maybe ever?

Thanks, decodelighted.
I am on a buying moratorium until at least next June (my 40th birthday!). Gonna give my finances a break, while I save up for a new setting for my engagement diamonds. The three stone will be my main ring, with my lovely dream band when I need extra bling.
I am glad to know that I am not the only one that second guesses things sometimes. I think that spending that much in such a short period of time had me a little croaked.

I think your set is really beautiful and you wear the rose gold so well. I can understand your apprehension, but maybe the best thing to do is to just enjoy your bling for now and see how you feel in a few months. Sometimes I feel like you just live with your pieces and enjoy them in your everyday life. Besides, they're gorgeous!

I think your ring is beautiful and I love the center stone. The rose gold is really pretty, too, and I am quickly becoming a fan. It looks so nice against skin.
