So, i need some advice from all of the pear/halo lovers. My boyfriend has given me the amazing opportunity to help in the design of my engagement ring. We purchased a loose stone from JA and are having a local family jeweler custom make the setting.
The stone:
Shape: Pear
Carat weight: 1.63
Cut: Excellent
Color: D
Clarity: I1
Certificate: GIA
Depth: 59.7%
Table: 62.0%
Polish: Very Good
Symmetry: Good
Girdle: Thin to slightly thick
Culet: Very Small
Fluorescence: None
Measurements: 10.82*6.65*3.97
Ratio: 1.63
Although the stone is an I1, it does not show it...with its excellent cut and beautiful light return. It was DEFINITELY a great bargain for us to compromise on the clarity. (it is hard for even myself to find the inclusions)
The setting: The setting is going to be a 2 sided halo with stones going down the shank also. My question is, what size stones should be in the setting...Right now I am thinking of having 1.5 pointers in the top of the halo and on the shank and 1 pointers on the side of the halo. Also, my ring size is 4.75
